Student Government’s annual holiday food drive competition is back for the third year.
According to Western Michigan Food Banks, “Right now, over 38 million Americans do not have enough to eat.” Western Michigan Food Banks are anticipating a multimillion pound shortfall between the need for food and food inventories this year. Join together with your organization or residence hall and help the greater Big Rapids area overcome this food shortage by donating non-perishable food items.
Important Dates:
¨ 11/3/09 Applications due by 5pm
¨ 11/9/09Food Drive Begins
¨ 11/20/09 Midway Point 9am-5pm
¨ 12/3/09 End of Donations at 5pm
RSO Competition Prizes:
¨ First Place – Catering Credit
¨ Second Place – $50 Meijer Gift Card
¨ Third Place – Dominos Pizza Party
*Donations from Dining Services, Student Government, and Dominos
Resident Hall Competition Prizes:
¨ First Place - $200
¨ Second Place - $150
¨ Third Place - $100
*Donations from RHA and NRHH
Greek Organization Prizes:
¨ First Place - $100
¨ Second Place - $70
¨ Third Place – $30
*Donations from Panhel, IFC, and BGC*
**The organization that brings in the most pounds overall will win $100**
Donations are to be brought to the Student Government Office (Rankin 121) between 9am and 5pm on 11/20/09 and 12/3/09. Donations can also be brought in from 1-2pm Monday through Thursday beginning on 11/9/09 until 12/3/09.
